The Jiulong Wuhu Scenic Viewing Spot
The Jiulong Wuhu (Nine Dragons and Five Tigers) Scenic Viewing Spot is located within the Ping'an Terraced Fields in Longji and enjoys a wide reputation. The "Nine Dragons" refer to the ridges of nine mountain ranges that can be seen following the direction of the terraced fields. They are like nine long dragons bending down from the sky to drink water from the Jinjiang River. Beside them, there are five small hillocks that squat on the ground like five tigers, guarding this piece of land and its people.
The terraced fields are like chains and belts, coiling from the foot of the mountain all the way up to the top. The small hills are like spirals, and the large mountains are like towers.
In this vast world of terraced fields as expansive as the sea, there are a total of 15,862 terraced fields of various sizes. The largest terraced field is only 0.62 mu in area, and the smallest one can only plant three rice seedlings. There are sayings like "A frog can jump across three fields" and "A straw raincoat can cover the whole field."
