Fubo Hill
Fubo Hill is located on the banks of the Lijiang River in the north of Guilin City. It is an isolated peak nestled by the water. In the Han Dynasty, General Fubo Ma Yuan passed through this place during his southern expedition, and thus the hill got its name. In the Tang Dynasty, a temple dedicated to General Fubo was built on the hill.
Currently, there are many places of interest here, such as Guishui Pavilion, Tingtao Pavilion, Banxia Pavilion, Huanzhu Cave, the self-portrait of Mi Fu, Qianfo Rock, etc. There is also a "Thousand-Person Cauldron" weighing more than 1,000 kilograms and a big bell weighing over 2,700 kilograms.
Inside Huanzhu Cave, there is a huge rock hanging down from the cave ceiling, known as the Sword-Testing Stone. It is only about an inch away from the ground and breaks off abruptly. According to legend, it was caused by General Fubo testing his sword.
